PEST SERVICES
Pill Bug Control
A scatter of little gray armored bugs along the basement wall, curling into balls the moment you touch them. Pill bugs do not bite, sting, or damage anything, but when the ground around the house stays damp they crowd toward the foundation in numbers, and a share of them always find their way inside.
OMNIS Pest Control has handled pill bug problems on Castle Rock area properties for over 13 years. Like most moisture pests, the fix is drying out and sealing the perimeter rather than treating the lawn, because pill bugs are pressing in from the damp ground around the house, not living indoors.

LOW
Harmless, but Nobody Wants Them Inside
Pill bugs cannot bite, sting, or spread disease, and they do no damage to your home or your belongings. Indoors it is too dry for them, so the ones that wander in dry out and die within a day or two. The problem is purely numbers and presence: a basement floor or garage corner scattered with them, alive or curled up dead, is an eyesore even though none of them can hurt you. Out in a garden they will occasionally nibble a tender seedling, which is the only real damage they do, and even that is minor.
THE LOCAL CONTEXT
Why Pill Bugs Gather Around Castle Rock Homes
Pill bugs are not really insects at all. They are land crustaceans, closer to a shrimp or a crab than to a beetle, and they breathe through gill-like structures that have to stay moist. That single fact explains where they show up. They cannot last anywhere dry, so they pack into the dampest ground they can find.
Around Castle Rock that means the mulch beds against the foundation, overwatered flowerbeds, the leaf litter and yard debris that hold moisture, and the soil under stones, planters, and woodpiles. When the band right against the house stays wet, pill bugs collect there in large numbers, and from there they slip in under doors, through foundation gaps, and around basement windows.
Because they are crowding the perimeter rather than nesting inside, control is about the conditions at the structure, not the open yard. Dry out and seal the band where they cross and the pressure drops off.

THE OMNIS DIFFERENCE
Why Local Homeowners Choose OMNIS for Pill Bug Control
Pill bug problems are a perimeter-and-moisture job, not a spray-the-lawn job. We have refined that approach over more than a decade of work on Castle Rock area properties.

Local Since 2012
Over 13 years working Castle Rock, Parker, and Douglas County. We know the damp spots around a property that gather pill bugs and the seasons they move.
Moisture First
Pill bugs cannot live without damp.
We find and fix the moisture sources against the foundation that draw them, because that is what actually keeps them out.
Perimeter Exclusion
The work happens at the structure: sealing the gaps they use, treating the band where they cross, and clearing the damp harborage along the foundation.
Measured Treatment
A harmless nuisance does not call for blanketing your yard in product.
We treat the perimeter where it counts and leave the rest of your landscape alone.
HOW WE WORK
Our 4-Step Pill Bug Control Process
Every property is different. The framework is the same: assess, dry out, treat, monitor. The specifics on your property come from a free on-site assessment.

1
Property Assessment
FREE ON-SITE
Walk the property with you. Find the moisture sources and damp harborage against the foundation, the gaps they are using to get in, and the rooms where you are seeing them.
2
Moisture & Harborage
ROOT CAUSE
Address what keeps the perimeter damp: mulch piled against the house, leaf litter, poor drainage, overwatering, debris and stones holding moisture. Dry that band out and the pill bugs lose the reason to gather there.
3
Perimeter Treatment
SEAL THE BAND
A targeted treatment on the band where pill bugs cross into the structure, along with sealing the gaps under doors and around basement windows that let them in.
4
Monitoring
PREVENT RETURN
Pill bug pressure tracks the moisture, so it returns with wet weather. We can stay engaged through the active stretches and adjust as conditions change.
PRICING
How Pricing Works
Pricing depends on property size, how much moisture and harborage work the perimeter needs, and whether you want one-time clearing or seasonal monitoring. Quoted free after an on-site assessment.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Pill Bug Questions We Get All the Time
The same questions come up every damp season. Straight answers from over a decade of working pill bugs in the Castle Rock area.
Are pill bugs dangerous?
No. Pill bugs do not bite, sting, or carry disease, and they cannot harm your home. They are about the most harmless thing you will ever find indoors. The only damage they do is the occasional nibble on a tender seedling out in the garden.
Why are there so many all of a sudden?
Pill bug numbers track moisture. A wet stretch, heavy watering, or damp mulch against the foundation lets them multiply and gather right by the house, and from there a share of them push inside. Dry the perimeter out and the surge fades.
Will they live and breed in my house?
No. Indoors is far too dry for a creature that breathes through gills. The ones that get in dry out and die within a day or two, which is why you usually find them curled up dead on a basement or garage floor.
Does spraying the yard fix it?
Blanket yard spraying is the wrong approach. Pill bugs are crowding in from the damp ground at the foundation, so the work that matters is drying out and sealing that band around the house, not treating open lawn.
How are they getting inside?
Gaps under doors, foundation cracks, weep holes, and basement window wells. When the soil right outside is loaded with them, even small openings let a steady trickle through, so sealing those entry points is a core part of the job.
Can I handle pill bugs myself?
You can cut the pressure a lot: pull mulch back from the foundation, fix drainage and overwatering, clear leaf litter and debris, and seal the obvious gaps. When the perimeter is still loaded with them, that is when professional moisture and exclusion work pays off.
Get Pill Bugs Out of Your Home
Free property assessment. Honest recommendations. Perimeter and moisture work that fixes why they are gathering, not just the ones you can see. If they are collecting along the foundation and slipping inside, the time to dry things out is before the next wet stretch.
We have served Castle Rock, Parker, and Douglas County for over 13 years. We find the moisture and entry points, treat the band where they cross, and keep the perimeter sealed.
